The Conservative controlled Borough Council has said the Coleshill car park is  now “surplus to requirements” and has sold it for a supermarket subject to planning permission.  All the Coleshill Councillors voted to sell the Car Park.

This is against the wishes of the Town Council and local people. They have denied proper consultation.  When Labour put a proposal to have a proper survey done to look at the economic effect on local shops and car parking, all 4 Councillors in Coleshill voted against it.

When the Conservative Councillors stood for election they put out a set of promises in their leaflet.  They promised to: “ensure that any proposal for a new supermarket in Coleshill is what local people actually want and that it will not kill off our High Street shops.”  So they have gone against the people, the Town Council and their own election promise.

The Conservative are not asking for your opinion but Mike wants to know it.  Please write and let him know.
